Get ready for the 2014 Herring Run!
Picture
Well, I have the poster ready and will be sending it to the printers soon.
In the next few weeks we will do the first of two trail work days as well.  This year I will be calling the trail work days only about a week ahead of time to avoid super rainy times (This could be next to impossible in the Maritimes)...So if you can make it, Great!
but if not, no worries.  I hope to see you there!
More info about the race here.
and to make it sweet and easy
you can even register here.

Get your gumption on....register here!

Thank you to all 23 amazing volunteers who were here early and helping out continuously to make this day work out.  It really does take a community to put on an event.  We are so proud to be part of this community and thankful for everyone’s willingness and enthusiasm for creating this event.

Thanks for all 50 runners who decided to come out for a wet, wet wet day of fun and for the hard work (and fun) that they did getting through the course.

Cheers to a successful first year of the Herring Run!

Trail work day

6/10/2013

WOW! what a great weekend of trail clearing, running and friends! The weather finally cooperated and Sadie and I had the pleasure of hosting a weekend of local folks and trail runners from Fredericton who came down to hang out, eat great food, play with kids, help clear the trail for The Herring Run and general merriment.
Thanks to Kathrine and Andrew Titus and for the yummy food, great enthusiasm, trail clearing and hints on muscle and joint care. Thanks to Nat and Uli for coming and supplying excellent cheese, trail clearing and good times. Thanks to Bernie Doucet for blasting the trail with the leaf blower. That is the way to do it for sure. Thanks Alex for coming down to help with the trail clearing and sharing the coastal trail with me. It is such a beautiful spot.  Thanks to Warren for bringing Eben and Louise to entertain as well as clearing trail.  Thanks to Skip Wolf and Dave Nutter for repairing the 4th bridge and raking as well.

I have been trail running for about 30 years and am rejuvinated by it. Breathing deeply in the woods and wild places is something everyone should do, what ever their capability.
