Bio
Hello, thanks for visiting my NB trail running site. My name is Bryan Gagner and running in the woods, hills and trails make up a big part of who I am. When I am not running, I make a living photographing beautiful spots around New Brunswick, Maine and the rest of the Maritimes. I often post pictures of places I've run on: https://www.facebook.com/GagnerCreative
or

so feel free to check it out.
I have been trail running since I was 7 (now 40) when my Mom signed me up for a local kids track team in hopes that I might use up some of my excess energy. It worked . . . . . for the most part.
We ran 1-2 miles on some trails behind the school for a warm up and since then I have always done XC and preferred trails. In High school, we had the only XC course in the league that was all on trails which was another big solidifying agent for me.
I then went to the University of Colorado in Boulder where I struggled to keep up with future olympic hopefuls on a winning NCAA Div 1 team. We would do these brutal 4-6x mile repeats where the "A" team would do 6 at 4:20 to 4:30. I was lucky to keep it under 5:00 for all of my 4. A couple of other "worked and disillusioned" teamates and I quit the team because running just wasn't fun anymore. We moved in together and rambled around the rockies on our own terms doing trail races and mountain biking where ever our whims took us. Just like that, running was fun again.
After university I lived in Steamboat Springs Colorado primarily for the skiing. I did trail racing there in the summer and usually placed in the top 5 before moving back east to coastal Maine. I was sidelined with a knee injury (which was actually just a muscle imbalance) for a few years and met my wife, Sadie. She is from New Brunswick and we both thought it would be a great place to live and raise a family.
We were right!
